Origin Story

Origin and Early Life

Chen Xiang began as a mortal figure whose exceptional qualities destined them for greatness. Many heroes of the Investiture of the Gods are disciples of immortal masters, taught from childhood in the arts of war and magic. Their mortal origins gave them relatable virtues that resonate with devotees.

Chen Xiang is the son of Sansheng Mu and Liu Shan Chang. In the classic story, he trains as a warrior and uses the Lotus Lantern to split Mount Hua, rescuing his mother from her imprisonment.
