The Azure Dragon of the East commands the eastern quadrant — the horn, neck, root, room, heart, tail and winnowing constellations — and the powers of wood and spring, per the cosmology of 《淮南子》. Oldest of the directional dragons, his blue-green form coils through Han mirrors and tomb ceilings into the present day.
