释迦牟尼佛

Buddha Wallpaper

This wallpaper depicts Buddha (释迦牟尼佛), one of the most beloved figures in Chinese mythology. The composition follows the traditional iconography recorded in classical texts and centuries of temple murals, water-land ritual paintings and New-Year prints — not an invented modern design.

Buddhist iconometry is codified in the 《造像量度经》 (Iconometric Sutra) and its commentaries: the Buddha's body bears the 三十二相 (thirty-two major marks) and 八十种好 (eighty minor marks) — ushnisha crown, urna between the brows, snail-shell hair curls, golden skin. This wallpaper follows that canonical measurement, seated in dhyana meditation mudra on a lotus throne.
