汉钟离

Immortal Han Zhongli Wallpaper

This wallpaper depicts Immortal Han Zhongli (汉钟离), one of the most beloved figures in Chinese mythology. The composition follows the traditional iconography recorded in classical texts and centuries of temple murals, water-land ritual paintings and New-Year prints — not an invented modern design.

《东游记》 (Journey to the East) casts Han Zhongli as the bare-bellied, palm-leaf-fanning jolly patriarch of the Eight Immortals, laughing heartily with a peach in hand — '袒腹持扇' in every description. Daoist tradition honors him as 正阳帝君 (Sovereign of Pure Yang), teacher of Lü Dongbin.
