Ao Qin, Dragon King of the Southern Sea, takes his name and court from the four-sea system of 《封神演义》 and 《西游记》. Southern coastal temples gave his court a tropical coloring — coral red and sea teal — and fire pearls among the branching coral, matching the warm southern waters he commands.
