风伯（飞廉）

Wind God Feng Bo Wallpaper

This wallpaper depicts Wind God Feng Bo (风伯（飞廉）), one of the most beloved figures in Chinese mythology. The composition follows the traditional iconography recorded in classical texts and centuries of temple murals, water-land ritual paintings and New-Year prints — not an invented modern design.

《山海经》 knows the wind god; 《楚辞·离骚》 (Songs of Chu) already sends Feilian galloping behind the poet's chariot; and Gao You's commentary to 《淮南子》 describes him precisely — '鹿身雀头，有角而蛇尾豹文' (deer's body, sparrow's head, horned, with snake's tail and leopard's markings). The wind-bag god of later temple art, hair and beard streaming, descends straight from this ancient zoomorphic form.
