《山海经·大荒北经》 describes the Torch Dragon, god of Mount Bell: human face, red serpent's body, a body a thousand li long — '视为昼，瞑为夜；吹为冬，呼为夏' — his opening eyes make day, his closing makes night; his breath makes winter and summer. One of the most cosmic beings in all the Classic of Mountains and Seas.
